Atlanta & Georgia on My Mind
DAY 1: Arrive Atlanta
Arrive at the Atlanta Airport and meet your Tour Director. Transfer to your hotel and settle in by unpacking for a 5-nightstay in Atlanta, the capital of the Peach State. Atlanta is often referred to as the Big Peach, the ATL for its airport code or Hotlanta for its growing stature as a travel destination. Tonight
enjoy a Welcome Dinner with your fellow travelers.

Day 2: ATLANTA CITY TOUR
This morning enjoy an Atlanta City Tour to see the Margaret Mitchell House, the Fox Theater (where Gone With The Wind premiered), the State Capitol, Georgia Tech University and Centennial Park, home of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. This afternoon, visit the Martin Luther King, Jr., National
Historic Site which includes King’s birth home, church and grave. The visitor center features exhibits about Dr. King, and the Civil Rights movement. Later visit the National Center for Civil & Human Rights, an engaging cultural attraction that connects The American Civil Rights Movement to today’s Global Human Rights Movements. The Center, located in downtown Atlanta on land donated by Coca Cola opened in 2014 and features four immersive and thought-provoking exhibit spaces including a continually rotating gallery of items from The Morehouse College Martin Luther King, Jr. Collection, where visitors can view the personal papers and items of Dr. King. This evening enjoy dinner at Mary Mac’s Tea Room, the popular 1945-era institution draws locals & tourists for Southern comfort food in a homey space. The restaurant was officially declared, Atlanta’s Dining Room, by the Georgia House of Representatives in 2011.

Day 3: Stone Mountain Park
This morning travel northeast of Atlanta to visit Stone Mountain Park, Georgia’s most visited attraction with more than 3,200 acres. During your visit experience Summit Skyride, a Swiss cable car ride to the top of Stone Mountain for stunning views. Later hop on the Scenic Railroad, visit Historic Square & Memorial Hall to see a short feature film. One of the park’s signature items is the largest high relief sculpture in the world, the Confederate Memorial Carving on the mountain, which depicts three famous Civil War Confederate leaders: President Jefferson Davis and Generals Robert E. Lee & Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson. This afternoon return to Atlanta and enjoy the evening at your own pace.
(B) Overnight: Atlanta
Day 4: Atlanta - WARM SPRINGS - Atlanta
This morning travel southwest of Atlanta to nearby Warm Springs to visit Roosevelt’s Little White House, where President FDR spent time hoping to find a cure for his polio. Franklin Delano Roosevelt built the house in 1932 while governor of New York, prior to being inaugurated as President in 1933.
Tour the carefully preserved home, see secret service sentry posts and visit the museum to see the “Unfinished Portrait”, his 1938 Ford convertible with hand controls, Fireside Chats playing over a 1930’s radio, his stagecoach and watch a short film narrated by Walter Cronkite. Later return to Atlanta and
visit The Carter Presidential Library & Museum, a state-of-the art museum tracing the life and work of President Jimmy Carter. Highlights include a life-size replica of the Oval Office, a dramatic “Day in the Life of the President” presentation, an exhibit about crucial Camp David Meetings, historic photographs and his Nobel Peace Prize. The Museum sits in a beautifully landscaped 35 acre park with two small lakes, a Japanese garden and a spectacular view of the Atlanta skyline.
(B) Overnight: Atlanta
Day 5: CNN - World of Coca-cola - RD. to Tara Museum
Today tour CNN Studios for a behind-the-scenes look at the global headquarters and learn how CNN’s news is written, produced and delivered to over 2 billion people worldwide, and maybe see some anchors hard a work. Later explore the history of the world’s most famous beverage brand at the World of Coca- Cola. Get close to the vault that holds the secret Coca-Cola recipe, see world-class art and memorabilia, and sample from almost 100 worldwide beverages. Later drive to Jonesboro, 15 miles south of Atlanta, known as the home of Gone With the Wind. Visit the Road to Tara Museum which combines area Civil War history with an impressive inventory of Gone with the Wind memorabilia including original props, costumes, a photo gallery and artifacts. This evening enjoy a Farewell Dinner with your fellow travelers at a popular local restaurant in Atlanta.

Day 6: Atlanta - Home
Today transfer to the Atlanta Airport for your flight home filled with unforgettable memories of your Atlanta & Georgia on My Mind travel experience.
